COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Austin Litherland topped his career high for
the second time in two weeks, and Chase Cortner also shot a career
high, but the Tennessee Tech rifle team fell to Jacksonville State
by a total score of 4542-4452.
Litherland broke his career high 581 which he set last week against
UT Martin with a 585 in the Air Rifle competition against the
Gamecocks on Saturday. Cortner was second on the team with a 575 in
the competition. Jessica McCauley shot 566 and Curtis Gagne shot
557.
In the Smallbore competition Litherland shot 562, Gange shot 557,
Cortner shot 547 and Patrick Stidham shot 503.
"We shot well, but once again we had consistency problems across
the board," TTU rifle coach Steve Law said. "I am pleased
with Austin's and Chase's scores. We are working hard to get
everybody shooting that well."
The Golden Eagles will compete at home again for the last time this
fall when Morehead State visits Cookeville on Oct. 25.
