Golden Eagles add transfer WR Dixon

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech bolstered its receiving corps on Friday as the Golden Eagles added transfer wide receiver J.D. Dixon from Bethel University.

Dixon's numbers with the Wildcats were incredible, finishing the 2023 season with 75 catches for 1,256 yards and 19 touchdowns. In his Bethel career over two seasons, he has 136 catches for 2,258 yards and 29 receiving scores. He averaged 16.6 yards per catch and 90.3 yards per game.

This past year, he had four games of over 100 receiving yards, including a season-high 10 catches for 165 yards against Pikeville. Dixon also had three games with two touchdowns against Arkansas Baptist, Point and Faulkner.

In his final season at Waverly Central, Dixon caught 63 passes for 1,538 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 128.2 yards a game and 24.4 yards per catch. His prep career ended with 2,526 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns, while also rushing for 491 yards and another nine scores on the ground. Dixon had 3,100 all-purpose yards in his high school career. In 2018, he was named a finalist for the TSSAA Mr. Football Award in Class 2A.

Dixon joins transfers Sean Pozniak (Maine OL) and Luke Shields (Virginia Tech WR) in the 2024 signing class. The recruiting season will start back up after the holiday and continue until National Signing Day on February 7.
