COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the December portion of the football recruiting schedule in the books, Tennessee Tech added two transfers on the early period signing day on Wednesday, bringing in an offensive lineman from a top-tier Football Championship Subdivision program and a wide receiver from the Football Bowl Subdivision.

In both cases, the additions to the Golden Eagle roster put the Tech football team's plans under new head coach Bobby Wilder into motion.

Sean Pozniak comes to Cookeville after spending the last two seasons as an offensive lineman at Maine. With his 6-8, 310-pound frame, Pozniak adds some size and power to the offensive front. A product of Tuscarora High School in Ashburn, Va., Pozniak earned an all-state nod as he played both ways as the Huskies finished his senior campaign with a 10-3 record.

Pozniak redshirted his first season with the Black Bears.

Luke Shields was a wide receiver at Virginia Tech the last two seasons, redshirting in the 2022 campaign and seeing action in one game in 2023.

A 6-0, 168-pound product of Centreville, Va., Shields was a first-team all-state selection at Centreville High School as he played receiver, safety and punt returner. Also earning first-team all-district and all-region honors, Shields was also named the 2021 NOVA Hall of Fame Player of the Year.

In his senior campaign, Shields caught 27 passes for 365 yards with seven touchdowns, averaging 13.5 yards per catch. In addition to his rushing and returns, he finished the season with 514 all-purpose yards.

His father, Jon, played football at Virginia Tech, earning letters in 1993 and 1994.

The recruiting season will start back up after the holiday and reach its pinnacle on National Singing Day on February 7.
