COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Following the announcement of the Tennessee Tech football team's 2019 schedule last month, dates have been set for a couple of special event days during the home slate.
Tech will host its annual Family Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 14, as the Golden Eagles entertain Virginia-Wise. That game will also feature the Running of the Freshmen before the start of the contest.
Also, on Saturday, Nov. 9, Tech will host its 89th annual Homecoming game, bringing in Jacksonville State. The Golden Eagles are 47-40-1 all-time on Homecoming, including two previous meetings against the Gamecocks in 2008 and 2013.
"These are always exciting games for our Tennessee Tech family," said Golden Eagle head coach Dewayne Alexander, "whether it is our current or alumni players, our students past, present and future, as well as their families. We urge everyone to wear their Purple and Gold and cheer on our Golden Eagles."
Additional special event days will be announced at a later time, as well as the start times for the 2019 contests.
