BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Another week and another accolade secured for the Tennessee Tech soccer team after Maggie Conrad was named the OVC Goalkeeper of the Week Tuesday afternoon.

Conrad's honor is not only Tech's fifth such award this season, but the distinction also marks the third-consecutive week in which a Golden Eagle was recognized with an accolade. Yao Giada Zhou was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week in each of the previous two weeks, while Selma Askildsen joined Giada Zhou as the OVC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 26.

Conrad's honor is her second this season and third of her Tech tenure after being named OVC Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 12 and Oct. 18, 2022.

The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native is coming off consecutive clean sheets in a scoreless draw at SIUE on Oct. 5 and a 1-0 home nod over Western Illinois on Oct. 8. Conrad collected nine combined saves in the pair of affairs, the most out of any keeper in the conference over the week.

The 5-foot-7 junior notched six stops in the nil-nil knot with the Cougars, which saw her surge down the stretch with four denials in the final six minutes to push the purple and gold to a conference point. Conrad followed up her Thursday performance in Edwardsville with three more halts in Sunday's victory over the Leathernecks that kept Tech undefeated in conference play.

Overall, Conrad leads the OVC in save percentage behind a .835 mark and is tops in the league in total saves thanks to 66 stops.

With two weeks remaining in the regular season, Conrad and the rest of the purple and gold will square off with UT Martin in the club's next contest. The battle with the Skyhawks is set for Thursday, Oct. 12 at Tech Soccer Field. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT and admission is free of charge.
