ATLANTA – When Jordan Brock was injured before the start of the 2021-22 season, it wasn't the end of that campaign for her – far from it. She worked with her Tennessee Tech coaches closely, learning from them and working with her teammates to make them better.

In that, Brock realized that she wanted to follow in her coaches' footsteps. She loves the game and it's something she wants to share that passion in to a new generation to follow.

Brock will get her first opportunity at the conclusion of this season as it was announced on Tuesday she was selected to the 20th "So You Want To Be A Coach" program held by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in partnership with WeCOACH. The two-day workshop is held during the 2023 WBCA Convention in Dallas on March 30 and 31.

"Being selected for the So Program is such a tremendous honor, and we are so proud and excited for Jordan," said Tech head coach Kim Rosamond.

There were 62 student-athletes selected for this anniversary class, ranging from all levels of the college game and all over the country. Brock is the only representative this season from the Ohio Valley Conference.

The "So" program is designed to, according to the WBCA's press release, increase the understanding and application of skills necessary to secure coaching positions in women's basketball, increase the understanding and awareness of competencies necessary for success in coaching, introducing female basketball players to coaches and administrators, and raise awareness of the existing talent pool of female basketball players who have a passion and interest in coaching the game of women's basketball.

"Jordan's commitment, leadership and character over the last six years as a Golden Eagle have been on full display, and these traits will help her become a successful coach in the near future," Rosamond said. "The skills, knowledge and experience she will gain from this program are priceless. We are grateful to the WBCA for selecting Jordan and for providing a platform for our future female leaders to connect and grow."

Brock, in her sixth and final season with the Tech women's basketball team, is the program's all-time leading 3-point shooter, hitting 289 of 817 long-range shots for a .354 percentage. Brock has also scored 1,429 points – making her the 16th highest scorer in program history. Brock stands in fourth in OVC history in 3-pointers attempted and made.

She is a .369 career shooter from the floor with an .820 mark at the free-throw line. In her career, Brock also has 237 rebounds, 245 assists, 12 blocks and 105 steals.

"This year we commemorate the twentieth anniversary of 'So You Want To Be A Coach,' our longest-running education program," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "Thanks to our partnership with WeCOACH, the program grows stronger each year and we look forward to another twenty years of preparing young, aspiring coaches to become great leaders and ambassadors for the game of women's basketball."

Brock is the second "So You Want To Be A Coach" selection for the Golden Eagles in three seasons. Former director of basketball operations Emily Hatfield participated in the program following the 2020-21 campaign.
