COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Southeast Missouri took both games on Saturday against Tennessee Tech, but the results were a misnomer as the Golden Eagles were able to put several well-hit balls into play. However, with some well-placed defensive players, the visiting Redhawks were able to keep Tech from stringing enough of those together to put runs on the board.

The Redhawks won the first game 11-0, then the second 9-1 with both games lasting only five innings.

The Golden Eagles (3-29, 0-8 Ohio Valley Conference) close out the series on Sunday at noon. Admission to Tech Softball Field is free to the public. The game will also be broadcast on ESPN+ (subscription required).

Marisa Davis (7-1) held Tech at bay as the Southeast Missouri ace yielded just one hit in the contest as she walked two and struck out none, while Gracelyn Woollen took the loss, allowing 11 runs – nine earned – on nine hits and seven walks with one strikeout.

Aubrie Shore drove in four runs as she was 2-for-3 at the plate in the opener, while Kileigh Grisham drove in three on her lone at-bat. Paige Halliwill went 2-for-2 at the plate in game one with an RBI and three runs scored, then went 2-for-2 in the nightcap with two more RBI and three more runs scored.

Abby Shoulders picked up Tech's lone hit in the first game in the bottom of the opening frame.

SEMO (16-9, 9-1 OVC) scored two runs in the first, one in the third and four in each of the fourth and fifth innings to force the run rule.

In game two, the Redhawks scored two in the first, five in the second and two in the fourth. Alyson Tucker drove in three runs.

Paytience Holman (2-5) picked up the victory, allowing one run on one hit as she walked one and struck out three. Callie Piper (2-14) was tagged for nine runs – eight earned – on seven hits and seven walks.

Shoulders drove in the Golden Eagles' only run of the day in the bottom of the third as her 6-4 grounder allowed Ella Bishop to come home to score.
