COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team made very noticeable improvements in head coach Jeannette Waldo's first season, and has already started training for the next phase of its journey in the fall of 2019. Looking to gauge the club's progress against live opponents, the coaching staff has finalized a spring schedule that will begin Saturday, March 16, and be comprised of four dates.
"Our team has taken great strides this spring, and we can't wait to see them compete," Waldo said. "We've put together a spring schedule that will challenge us as we prepare for our season in the fall, and since we are hosting two home events, we look forward to continuing to grow our local fan base."
Saturday's competition will bring Union University (Tenn.) and Campbellsville University (Ky.) to Cookeville for a round-robin 'tri-match' in the Eblen Center.
Tech will square off with Campbellsville in the first match of the day at 2 p.m., and will then have a bye as CU takes on Union at 3 p.m. Tech will then close the event with a 4 p.m. clash with Union.
Two weeks later, TTU will visit Chattanooga for a tournament on Saturday, March 30, and will then take on multiple teams at Western Kentucky on April 13.
Tech will finish its spring lineup four days later on April 17, when it welcomes Trevecca Nazarene to the Eblen Center for a 6 p.m. first serve.
Both home events are open to the public.
