Bratton's top-10 finish highlights Golden Eagle finish at Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up play at the eighth annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon, fielding a pair of teams at its own even on the Highlands Course at Sevierville Golf Club.

The Purple Team moved up a spot on the final day of action, finishing seventh overall with a final score of 316-318-312=946. The Gold Team concluded the day and event 13th, posting a 982 behind rounds of 320, 332 and 330.

Eastern Kentucky took home the top spot for the event, firing a 297-295-298=890. The Colonels were led by individual medalist Ragga Kristinsdottir, who turned in a 215.

Senior Hannah Bratton was the top performer for the purple gold through the weekend, carding a 75-78-74=227 for the Purple Team. The 227 marked a career-best showing, as did her eighth-place showing among the field of 65.

Tying for 30th overall and ranking second on the Purple Team, junior Heidi Lawson continued her consistent play, producing a 79-80-80=239. Just behind her teammate on the leaderboard was freshman Ainsley Simms, who concluded her first collegiate event tied for 32nd after contributing a 78-80-82=240.

Continuing the trend for the Purple Team, sophomore Elisabeth Toennessen turned in her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, producing a 76 to tie for 34th with a score of 241. Representing the top performer of the Gold Team, fellow sophomore Gittle Sciolis tied for 45th after scoring a 246 backed by a weekend-low 80 on the day.

Senior Kate Mashburn carded a 79-83-85=247 to tie for 47th and finish second on the Gold Team. Rounding out the Purple Team, sophomore Katrine Toennessen tallied a 248 behind rounds of 84, 82 and 82 to tie for 49th.

Tying for 55th with a 250 was senior Isabel York, who put together an 82. Redshirt senior Arianna Clemmer and sophomore Makenzie Morton each tied for 57th with final scores of 251. Clemmer compiled rounds of 79, 89 and 83 while Morton shot an 81-83-87=251.

Next on the docket for the Golden Eagles is a trip to Richmond, Ky. for the Colonel Classic. The event will be held Monday, Mar. 29 and Tuesday, Mar. 30 at the University Club at Arlington.
