COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will host its annual Biscuits & Basketball on Saturday, Oct. 26, beginning at 9 a.m. CT in the Hooper Eblen Center.

In its third year, Biscuits & Basketball has become a fan-favorite event, allowing supporters and friends of the program their first opportunity to get a glimpse of the 2019-20 squad as the women conduct an hour-long practice, followed by a meet-and-greet with the team and autograph session. Biscuits and coffee will be available, while supplies last, when practice begins at 9 a.m.

"Our team looks forward to this event every year," said head coach Kim Rosamond. "It's grown from a few dozen people our first year to a few hundred last year. We hope to see even more fans attend on October 26. Our players look forward to spending time with our loyal supporters, as well as meeting new ones."

The Golden Eagles are fresh off the program's best season since 2010-11, accumulating 22 overall victories, finishing 12-6 in Ohio Valley Conference play, and garnering the program's first postseason win since 2006. The Golden Eagles return a roster full of impact players from last year, which includes seniors Akia Harris and Anacia Wilkinson, juniors Jordan Brock, Kesha Brady, Mackenzie Coleman, Abby Buckner, and Megan Clark, and sophomores Taylor Lamb and Hannah Garrett.

The team also welcomes a group of eager and talented newcomers this year, that includes sophomores Grace Pelphrey and Windee Johnson, in addition to freshmen Jada Guinn, Maaliya Owens, DJ McFarlane, and Mackenzie Keelin.

Biscuits & Basketball is the first official event before the team sees action on October 29. The team will play an exhibition game against the Patriots of the University of the Cumberlands at 6 p.m. during TTU Athletics' Purple Palooza event. More details about the annual Tech event will be made available soon.

"I can't say enough how much we appreciate and value our partnership with Ben Prine and Chick-fil-A," said Rosamond. "Chick-fil-A has been a charter sponsor of Biscuits & Basketball since its inception in 2017. The generosity and support of Ben and his team makes it possible for us to host a first-class event for our fans, promote our upcoming season and introduce our current team to the community.  It's hard to beat a Chick-fil-A biscuit and Tech basketball on a fall Saturday morning."

The season will officially kick off on Tuesday, Nov. 5 when the Golden Eagles host Cumberland University at 6 p.m. in the Hooper Eblen Center.
