Dream vs. Mystics
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Former University of Tennessee star
Chamique Holdsclaw will lead the Atlanta Dream next month back to
the state where she gained the national spotlight.
The Lady Vol All-American will headline the Dream when the play
the Washington Mystics at Tennessee Tech’s Eblen Center on
Sunday, May 9, in a WNBA exhibition game. Tipoff for the game is at
3 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each with several discount options also available
including a Mother’s Day Family Plan of four tickets for $30.
Groups and athletic teams can receive tickets for $5 each when
purchased as a group.

Holdsclaw has averaged 17.3 points and nearly eight rebounds per
game during her 10-year career in the WNBA. She has played in four
WNBA All-Star contests and helped her team to the playoffs five
times.
She finished her career as Tennessee’s all-time leading
scorer and rebound (male and female) with 3,025 points and 1,295
rebounds, and is also the all-time scoring and rebound leader in
NCAA women’s tournament history while helping the Lady Vols
to three consecutive NCAA Championships.
Twice named the Naismith Trophy winner as the national Player of
the Year, Holdsclaw was a four-time Kodak and Associated Press
first-team All-America. Four years ago she was named to the
women’s collegiate basketball Silver Anniversary Team as one
of the 25 greatest players over the past 25 years.
While Holdsclaw will be making her first appearance in Eblen
Center, Dream head coach Marynell Meadors and a handful of her
players are familiar with the home of Tennessee Tech
basketball.
Meadors established the women’s basketball program at Tech
in 1970 and served as the team’s head coach for 16 seasons,
becoming the first Division I women’s coach to win 300 games
at one institution. She is a member of the TTU Sports Hall of
Fame.
Dream forward Angel McCoughtry played in Eblen Center during her
decorated career at Louisville. In addition, newly acquired twins
Coco and Kelly Miller played at Tech while they were stars at the
University of Georgia.
