BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team completed the second round of action of the 2023-24 season Tuesday afternoon, finishing off its second trip around the Streamsong Black Course at Streamsong Resort as part of the Allstate Streamsong Invitational.
The Golden Eagles remained 11th in the team standings after improving its performance by two shots from Monday, posting a 296 as a team for a two-day total of 594. Kennesaw State took over the team lead behind its second straight round of 277, sitting at 554 overall. The Owls' Shaun Cook continued to pace the field individually, finishing the day with a 133 behind a round of 67.
Sophomore Haden Maxwell fired a career-low 67 to sit atop the Tech lineup, moving into a tie for 11th among the 60 participants. He racked up six birdies for his 6-under round without recording a single bogey, bringing his two-round score to 142.
Fellow sophomore Anders Larson also showed improvement from round one, carding a 1-under 72 behind five birdies. The second-year Golden Eagle concluded the day tied for 41st with a full score of 147 through 36 holes.
Joining the group of improvement was veteran Sean Anderson, shaving a stroke from his first-round 75 for a 1-over 74 in the second round with three birdies. Sporting a total score of 149, the senior tied for 47th with one trip around the course left on the docket.
Rounding out the scoring for the purple and gold, Alexander Bassel shot an 83 on the day, coming into the clubhouse with an overall score of 157 through two rounds. After shooting a 1-over 74 on Monday, junior Jackson Skeen did not compete on Tuesday after withdrawing from round two.
The third and final round of the Allstate Streamsong Invitational will begin at 7:30 a.m. CT for the Golden Eagles as part of another shotgun start.
