Golden Eagles finish 12th at Craft Farms Intercollegiate

GULF SHORES, Ala. – With inclement weather in the Tuesday forecast, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team knocked out the final two rounds of play at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate at Cotton Creek Golf Course on Monday.

The Golden Eagles finished the week 12th out of 14 teams, tallying scores of 304 and 296 on the final day of action for a final score of 900. Texas State completed a clean sweep at the top of the leaderboard, winning with a 3-under 861. Oakland's Colin Sikkenga took the individual title, finishing with a 5-under 211.

Sophomore Jackson Skeen led the effort for the purple and gold, tallying back-to-back rounds of 72 with six total birdies over the 36 holes. The youngster tied for 12th among 75 individuals, posting a two-day total of 217.

Tying for 43rd overall was Sean Anderson, carding scores of 77 and 74 on the final day of action. The junior tallied four birdies along the way, totaling 225 for the tournament. Next among the Golden Eagle competitors was Anders Larson, registering rounds of 79 and 76. The rookie recorded five birdies and an eagle on the day, totaling 230 to tie for 58th. 

Junior Mark McDearman totaled a trio of birdies while turning in a pair of 84s during the day. He tied for 73rd with a 246. Freshman Haden Maxwell delivered two highly efficient rounds, tallying four birdies with scores of 76 and 74.

Tech will return to action April 10 and 11 in Old Hickory, Tenn. for the Big Blue Intercollegiate at The Hermitage Golf Course and President's Reserve.
