Cambron scores Tech's only goal

RADFORD, Va. – Playing its sixth consecutive game away from home, Tennessee Tech struggled on the road against Radford Sunday, falling 3-1.

Junior Kris Cambron scored the Golden Eagles' only goal of the afternoon in the 66^th minute, scoring from 15 yards out off a cross from sophomore Taylor Hicks. The goal was Cambron's first of the season.

The goal gave Tech hope for a comeback, cutting the Radford lead to 2-1, but the Highlanders extended their advantage back to two goals in the 69^th minute when Annabel Bergin scored off a Sahar Aflaki assist.

Radford built its lead in the first half when Alayna Henby scored at the 29-minute mark. After more than 30 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Highlanders netted their second goal when Mary Wiley scored on a rebound off the post.

Radford took 17 shots on the afternoon compared to four by the Golden Eagles. Of the Highlanders' 17 shots, eight were on goal. Tennessee Tech managed just two shots on goal, one apiece from Cambron and freshman Amanda Koch.

Golden Eagle sophomore goalkeeper Becca Toler collected five saves on the afternoon while playing all 90 minutes in goal.

Tech will play its seventh-straight match on the road Friday, Sept. 16 at Middle Tennessee State at 7 p.m. before returning home to host Lipscomb at Tech Soccer Field Sunday, Sept. 18 at 3 p.m.
