COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – For the third time in her career, Tennessee Tech's Allyson Dunn was recognized as an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Dunn was among the collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

"This is another great achievement in the classroom by Allyson," head coach Polk Brown said. "The three years she was here, she was just so solid in school and it shows with all of the accolades she has received over the years. She's getting ready to go to dental school here in the next few weeks and we know she's going to be successful with that as well. We wish her all the best and are very proud of her."

The Golden Eagle senior was among a group of 16 from the Ohio Valley Conference included in the 1,011 players chosen from throughout every NCAA Division as well as NAIA schools.

A native of Kingsport, Tenn., Dunn led Tech in scoring average for the third straight season since tranferring over from East Tennessee State following her freshman year. The team captain finished the year with a 77.78 average while claiming three top-10 and one top-five finishes during the year, despite missing two events due to injury. Over her career, Dunn accumulated a 76.98 scoring average, one of the best in program history. Graduating in May with her bachelor's of science in cellular and molecular biology, Dunn completed her undergraduate career with a 3.91 GPA.
