Tech women's golf team ranked ninth after first day of Starmount Forest Fall Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of play at the Starmount Forest Fall Classic Monday afternoon at the Starmount Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

The Golden Eagles finished the day ranked ninth among the 12 participating teams, posting scores of 318 and 320 for a 638 overall. Campbell led the way on day one by a healthy margin, sitting comfortably in first place with a 579 overall after rounds of 291 and 288. Campbell was led by Annelie Sjoholm, whose 73-70=143 paced the field of 66 golfers.

Leading the way for the Golden Eagles on the first day of competition was sophomore Arianna Clemmer who notched a 151 to sit in a tie for 13th overall. She tallied a first-round 76 before following up with a second-round 75.

Fellow sophomore Shelby Johnson followed among the Tech participants, tying for 24th with a two-round total of 155. Johnson carded a 79 in round one before shaving three strokes for a second-round 76 to conclude the day.

Senior Allyson Dunn was next on the leaderboard for the Golden Eagles, carding an 80-84=164 to tie for 49th. Junior Hollee Sadler posted and 83-85= 168 to tie for 53rd while freshman Kate Mashburn tied for 58th with a final score line of 83-89=172.

Tech is set to kick off round three of play Tuesday morning with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start.
