GADSDEN, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up day two of action at the Chris Banister Fall Classic Monday afternoon ranked sixth with 18 holes to play on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles posted a 319 in round two, totaling 623 for two days of play to rank sixth among the nine-team field. Tech sits just seven shots back of third-place Morehead State.
For the second straight day, Murray State led the field, sitting at 591 for the event, a healthy 16 strokes ahead of second-place Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks' Valentina Giraldo took over the individual lead of the tournament, posting a 4-under 68 for a 144 overall.
Senior Allyson Dunn led the Golden Eagles headed into the final day of play, sitting at a 153 after rounds of 75 and 78. The veteran also ranks tied for 12th overall in the field of 49.
Fellow veteran Hollee Sadler led the Tech squad on day two, matching her first-round effort of 77 for a two-round total of 154. The junior finished the day tied for 14th overall. Sophomore Arianna Clemmer ranked tied for 18th after carding an 83 for a total score of 157.
Sophomore Shelby Johnson also posted an 83 on the day, bringing her two-day total to 161 to tie for 25th. Rookie Kate Mashburn followed up her first collegiate round of 81 with another 81 to total 162 and tie for 31st.
Participating as an individual, junior Lindsay Miller carded an 83 after a first-round 81 for a total of 164. She ranked in a tie for 35th overall.
The Golden Eagles will tee off the final round of play at Silver Lakes Golf Course starting at 7:30 a.m. CT.
