Hodges earns OVC Female Freshman Athlete of the Week honors

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech track & field's Bay'Andria Hodges took home as recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference Female Freshman Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon.

The freshman was spectacular throughout the entirety of the Catamount Classic last weekend, competing in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 4x400-meter relay. The youngster blazed to a spot in the finals in the 100-meter, placing fifth among 25 contestants with a time of 12.23 seconds.

Hodges followed it up with a fourth-place performance in the 200-meter featuring 26 sprinters. She locked down a lightning-quick time of 24.84 seconds. Rounding out the weekend, she kicked off the action for Tech's 4x400-meter relay team on its way to a first-place showing of 3:29.02, the second-fasted mark in the OVC this season.

The Golden Eagles will head to Nashville for the Music City Challenge this weekend, competing Friday, Apr. 26 and Saturday, Apr. 27 at the Vanderbilt Outdoor Track.
