JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – It will take some time to find out how the Tennessee Tech softball team fared against the University of Tennessee.

Monday afternoon's game was suspended in the bottom of the second with two Golden Eagles on base and one down with the No. 20 Lady Vols leading 2-0.

There is no continuation date or time set at this time, but is planned to be concluded at a later time. The day's second game against host East Tennessee State was canceled.

Statistics in the Tennessee contest do not count until the game has reached its conclusion.

The Lady Vols (8-6) scored two runs in the top of the second inning as Amanda Ayala and Kiki Milloy – who reached on a four-pitch walk and hit-by-pitch respectively – came home on Kaitlin Parson's two-run single to center field.

The Golden Eagles (9-7) challenged in the bottom of the frame. Raleigh Lewis led off with a walk on four pitches, then Raegan Sparks pushed a single through the left side of the infield. Beth McCulley went the opposite way, but a bang-bang 9-2 play caught Lewis at the plate.

The game was suspended at that point with one down, Sparks on second and McCulley at first.

Alyssa Arden allowed two runs on one hit over two frames, walking three. Her counterpart, Callie Turner, allowed two hits and a walk on an inning and a third.
