Syrym is a new addition to the Golden Eagle roster, a transfer from the University of Oklahoma who will sit out the 2010-11 season...with two years of eligibility remaining, he will begin his Golden Eagle playing career during the 2011 fall tournament schedule...a native of Kazakhstan, he played for the Davis Cup team and has 13 years of international playing experience.
BEFORE TECH: Starting in the sport at the age of 10, Syrym has played for 13 years in national and international competition...ranked in the ITF U-18 Top 70...highest international rank was 548 in the ATP world singles charts and 460 in doubles...has captured tourney titles in Greece, Georgia and Pakistan....spent one year at Oklahoma as a member of the team but was not eiligible to compete because of his previous Davis Cup experience...the restriction continues through the current season...attended Almaty High School.
