BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Following his second tournament of the 2021-22 fall season, Tennessee Tech's Nick Sutton earned his second Ohio Valley Conference Male Golfer of the Week honor, as announced by the league Wednesday morning.

The sophomore delivered his top finish donning the purple and gold, collecting a runner-up finish in a field of 92 golfers at the Grover Page Classic at Jackson Country Club Tuesday. Sutton tied his career-low of 208, also tied in his first event of the year, while leading the Golden Eagles to a second-place finish in the 16-team event.

A native of Matthews, N.C., he produced a first round of 72 and followed it with back-to-back scores of 68. His 208 ranked in the top-10 best performances in program history. For the event, Sutton finished second in par-three scoring at 2-under and third in both par-five scoring at -9 and in total birdies with 16.

Sutton became the first Golden Eagle to earn multiple Golfer of the Week honors in the same season since Matthew Giles collected three in the fall of the 2015-16 campaign.

The Tech men's golf team returns to the links for competition Monday, Oct. 11, traveling south to Duluth, Ga. for the Georgia State Invitational at Berkeley Hills Country Club.
