Tennessee Tech students, by voting, you have the power to change the world around you for not only yourself but future generations. But if you don't register or vote, you are giving up your voice and letting others decide who will represent you. Fortunately, it has never been easier to register to vote or cast a ballot in Tennessee.
Elections for local and statewide office are happening in 2022 and these offices make decisions about things that affect your life every day like schools, transportation, healthcare, and taxes. In Tennessee, there have been state and local elections decided by only a handful of votes. In these races, your vote could be the deciding factor.
If you have never voted before, the first step is to register. You can register to vote in minutes at the Tennessee Tech University Voter Registration Tailgate on Saturday, September 11, before the Furman game at Tucker Stadium.
At the tailgate, you will be guided through the registration process in minutes using the Secretary of State's fast, easy and secure online voter registration system, GoVoteTN.gov.
Last year, Tennesseans broke voter turnout and participation records. Together we can build on this momentum. You can participate by registering to vote at the Tennessee Tech Voter Registration Tailgate on Sept. 11 and encouraging your friends to come by and register.
Election experts will be at the tailgate to answer any questions you may have about Tennessee's easy voting process. Tennessee voters can also visit GoVoteTN.gov or call the Secretary of State's Division of Elections at 1-877-850-4959 for more information.
Tech Athletics is working with the Tennessee Secretary of State's office and the Putnam County Election Commission to host the Tennessee Tech Voter Registration Tailgate.
