NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Tennessee Tech women's cross country team has been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as a Division I All-Academic Team for the 2015 season. Coach Wayne Angel's squad was selected for its efforts in the classroom throughout the year while posting a combined team 3.114 GPA.
The Golden Eagles were selected as one of 187 programs from across Division ! to earn the distinction.
“This recognition stands as a testament to the commitment of our young ladies toward excellence in the classroom," Angel said. "They are taking some challenging majors coupled with the heavy demands of training and competition. I am very proud of these young ladies.”
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA Regional Championship.

Seven OVC women's teams earned All-Academic team status for the 2015 cross country season from the USTFCCCA. Two-hundred and five women's teams had at least one All-Academic runner.
