Meghan is a true distance runner who shows tremendous competitive fire whenever the starting gun sounds...determined runner who expect to beat her career marks in her final season on the roster...shows strong leadership skills as well as outstanding commitment in the classroom.
AT TECH (In 2013-14:): Meghan raced in all six cross country meets in her senior season...ran season-best 5K time of 20:37.88 at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
(In 2012-13): After finishing third on the team in the first four cross country meets of the year, Meghan battled injuries that slowed her but didn't stop her over the second half of the year...placed seventh on the team in those events...peaked with a 20:47.9 run in the Louisville Invitational...battled back to finish late in the year with a 20:49.2 showing at the OVC Championships...during the track & field season, Meghan ran the 3,000m and 5,000m indoors, and the 5,000m and 10,000m outdoors...her 3,000m time of 11:37.65 at Sewanee was a personal best...clocked a 19:30.32 time at Vanderbilt in the 5,000m run for another career-best...ran the 10K at the OVC Championships in 43:03.67.
(In 2011-12): Meghan competed in all seven cross country meets in her second season with Tech, showing improvement throughout the season...posted season-best 5K times of 20:45 at both the Evansville Invitational and the OVC Championships..ran three consecutive sub-21-minute times at Jacksonville State, Evansville, and OVC... Meghan competed in the 3,000m and 5,000m during the indoor season and competed in the 3,000m, 5,000m, and 10,000m during the outdoor season... during the indoor season, she set a season-best record in the 5,000m with a time of 19:32.04 and another season-best record and a career best in the 5,000m with a time of 19:52.12... in the 3,000m she managed to set a new career-best with a time of 11:46.35 at the Southern Illinois Invitational... during the outdoor season at the Vanderbilt Invitational, she set a season-best and a career-best in the 3,000m with a time of 11:26.24 and in the 10,000m with a time of 41:32.62.
(In 2010-11): Meghan competed in five meets in the fall cross country season...her times improved in nearly every meet...achieved her career-best time of 21:38 at Furman...competed in the 3,000m, 5,000m, and 10,000m in track season...ran a season-best 11:33 in the 3,000 at Vanderbilt and posted a season-best 20:25 in the 5,000m at Jacksonville State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Meghan lettered four seasons in cross country at Morristown West High School for coach Raymond Farmer...also lettered four seasons in track for Farmer and coach Mac Pickle...earned numerous awards and honors...named All-Conference for three seasons, All-Region in two seasons and MVP...also named Newcomer of the Year in her freshman season...helped lead the squad to regional, conference and state championships in her freshman season in 2006...also an achiever in the classroom, having graduated with first honors and named a Who's Who student, AP Scholar and a Gold Star Achiever.
