Place leads Tech runners into NCAA Regional meet Saturday

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech women's and men's cross country teams will be among four Ohio Valley Conference teams running Saturday morning in the NCAA South Regional, hosted by the University of Tennessee, at the Lambert Acres Golf Club in Maryville, Tenn. The meet is one of nine regionals being held around the country.

In addition to Tech, OVC teams competing in the South Regional this weekend will be Austin Peay, Jacksonville State and UT Martin.

Senior Stephanie Place, named the OVC Athlete of the Year after winning the individual conference championship, will lead Tech's hopes at Maryville. After becoming the first Tech runner to win an OVC cross country championship, she will now hope to become the first to qualify for the national championship meet.
