High School: A strong midfielder and defender throughout her high-school tenure, Grueninger was a four-year varsity starter and team captain at North Central High School in Indianapolis, Ind…helped lead her team to a pair of Marion County championships in 2019 and 2021…two-time All-State team member…two-time All-County team member and two-time All-Tournament team member…winner of the Senior Excellence Award by the United Soccer Coaches…serving primarily as a defender scored 18 goals and added 28 assists throughout her high school career…career-high eight goals and 13 assists as a sophomore…four-year academic all-state, member of the National Honor Society and member of her high school’s honor roll…recipient of the Linda Lawrence Vision of the Future Award…graduated in the top five percent of her class.

Personal: Daughter of Mike and Erika Grueninger…born April 13, 2004…full name is Sophia Elisabeth Grueninger…was the Editor-in-Chief for her high school’s print and online newspaper…was a board member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee in high school…member of the Women in Business Club…member of the second Presbyterian Church youth group…mother Erika was a member of the DePauw University swim team.

Academic: Intends to major in nursing.
