IN 2009 (Junior): Taren became a silent leader on defense for the Golden Eagles, as she logged 1600 minutes on the field. She scored a goal and recorded 2 points at Jacksonville State (10/23). Earned the honor of second-team all-OVC for her play in 2009.
IN 2008 (Sophomore): Earned OVC post-season
honors for the second consecutive year, being named to the all-OVC
second team. Taren scored one goal in the 2008 season, which came
off a penalty kick in a 2-1 win over OVC foe Eastern Kentucky. She
played in all 20 games, starting the first 19 before missing the
first half of Tech’s OVC tournament game with an injury.
Brown tallied eight total shots on the season, including six on
goal.
IN 2007 (Freshman): Taren started all 18
games for the Golden Eagles as a freshman, and was named team
Rookie of the Year, and earned a spot on the OVC all-newcomer team.
Taren scored a goal in a win against Jacksonville State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Taren was a versatile soccer player
at Hendersonville High School, lettering all four years while
playing for coach Russ Plummer…She and her high school squad
were the district champs in 2003, 2004, and 2006; the region champs
in the same years; made the state tournament in 2004, the final
four in 2006, and were state finalists in 2003…was named
2003 Most Improved Player, part of the 2004 Katie Hunter
All-Tournament team, 2005 Most Valuable Player, four-year
All-County, 2004-06 All-District, 2005-06 All-County Defensive
Player of the Year, 2005-06 All-District Defensive MVP, 2005-06
All-Region Defensive MVP, 2006 First-team All-Midstate, and 2005-06
All-State player.
