COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – For the second time this summer, a Tennessee Tech golfer claimed the top spot in a premier, Tennessee Golf Association event as Heidi Lawson teamed up with her former high school coach, Jennifer Blanchard, to claim the 24th Annual Tennessee Women's Four-Ball Championship.

The two joined forces to blitz the field at General's Retreat at Hermitage Golf Club on Tuesday, finishing the front nine with a pair of birdies before tearing up the final nine holes. Lawson/Blanchard fired five more birdies on the back nine, finishing the entire round bogey-free. 

The duo's 7-under 65 ranked at least three shots better than any other in the field the entire event and represented one of only two scores under 70.

On the second and final day of action, Lawson/Blanchard again set the pace for the whole field, this time rounding out action with a 2-under 70. While the team did see four bogeys fall on the card, it also threw together six birdies. The two joined together to represent the only team in the field to post two rounds under par as well.

The duo's overall score of 135 won the event by five shots, securing another Four-Ball title by a Golden Eagle golfer this summer. 

In July, Will Brooks combined with Belmont's Jack Uselton to win the 49th Annual Tennessee Four-Ball Championship 

"I'm so excited for Heidi and Jenn," Tech head coach Polk Brown said. "This is yet another incredible achievement by our Golden Eagle golf family and for her to accomplish it with her high school coach is so cool. I know we are pumped to get both of our teams back on campus in the following weeks and get back to work in the classroom and on the course as we prepare for another great season of Tennessee Tech golf."
