COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech closed out its final home game in the 2025-26 season honoring its four seniors with moments of laughter and joy as well as tears not for the contest that had just closed, but for their teammates who are on the sunset of their collegiate careers.
While Saturday's 70-57 loss to Lindenwood stung, it was about the camaraderie of the day.
The Golden Eagles (14-13, 7-11 OVC) now see their conference tournament hopes lie in next week's contests as Tech travels to UT Martin on Thursday and Southeast Missouri next Saturday for the final two games of the regular season.
As the standings sit, Tech and SIUE now stand square at 7-11 for a tie for seventh in the league, while Southeast Missouri sits a game back at 6-12. SIUE defeated Tennessee State 67-52 and SEMO topped Little Rock 71-62.
Chloe Larry led Tech with 15 points, five rebounds, an assist and a career-high five steals. Graduate honoree Reagan Hurst ended the day with 13 points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Amaya Redd also had a double-figure day as she scored 12 points with five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Freshman LaReesha Cawthorn narrowly missed a double-double with 10 rebounds and eight points, collecting four steals.
Aleshia Jones led Lindenwood (22-7, 14-4 OVC) with 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. Ellie Bruggemann and Brooke Coffey each had 12 points, while Gracie Kelsey had 12 points.
The Golden Eagles saw Lindenwood take an early lead, but stormed back on a 12-point run to go up by six and end the opening quarter up 19-15, but Lindenwood outscored Tech 23-7 in the second period as the Golden Eagles hit just one of their 11 field goal attempts in the quarter, scoring five points at the charity stripe. The Lions went on a 19-0 run to break away.
Following the game, Reghan Grimes, Hurst, Cam Mathews and manager Shaela Ledbetter Garrett were honored for their service to the program.
