BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Haeli Bryson had a big week in the circle for the Tennessee Tech softball team. The Ohio Valley Conference agreed, as the league's sports information contacts split the vote for the conference Pitcher of the Week between Bryson and Jacksonville State's Alexus Jimmerson.

Coincidentally, the two teams square off on Tuesday in a doubleheader at Tech Softball Field. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. The games will be broadcast on ESPN+ (subscription required) with Dylan Vazzano providing the call.

Bryson, a junior from Otto, N.C., picked up both wins for the Golden Eagles this weekend against SIUE, going the distance in both contests. In the first game, she went nine full innings allowing seven hits. Then, in Sunday's rubber game, Bryson yielded just four hits – a home run in the top of the first accounting for all of the Cougars' scoring.

For the week, Bryson posted a 0.88 ERA in 16 innings of work, walking two and striking out five.

Jimmerson won both the share of the Pitcher of the Week honor as well as the league's Player of the Week award. She batted .579 last week to continue her 10-game hitting streak and 10-game extra-base hit streak. In the last week, she had two games with three RBI and one game with two home runs. She picked up five runs and drove in eight.

In the circle, Jimmerson went 3-0, winning all three in relief. She pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and no runs against Austin Peay, then threw 6 1/3 innings of scoreless ball against Eastern Illinois, yielding just one hit. She closed out the week with a two-inning outing against the Panthers to secure the victory.
