Tech softball falls twice to Eastern Kentucky

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech softball team ran into a temporary roadblock in its Ohio Valley Conference tournament hopes on Saturday as the Golden Eagles were swept by Eastern Kentucky.

The Colonels won the games 6-1 and 8-0 in six innings.

Tech's lone run of the day came on Hallie Davis' solo home run in the second inning.

Taylor Waldrop took the game one loss, allowing six runs on 10 hits, walking five and striking out four.

Kayla Hughes took the game two loss, allowing eight runs on six hits, walking five and striking out four.

Tech (16-29, 7-11 OVC) returns to action on Sunday as it hosts Morehead State in a doubleheader, starting at 12 p.m. The Golden Eagles will honor its seniors during the games.

Admission to all games at Tech Softball Field is free to the public.
