COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Have a passion for running? Do you possess the innate desire to compete and win? Do you want the thrill of succeeding both as an individual and as part of a team? There may be a place for you on the Tennessee Tech men's cross country team.
The Golden Eagle men's cross country team, under the direction of newly hired head coach Peter Dalton, is now accepting applications from Tennessee Tech University students interested in trying out for the 2019-20 roster. Prospective applicants must be enrolled full-time at Tennessee Tech for the fall 2019 semester, own a minimum GPA of 2.5 and not be on academic warning or probation.
They must also be certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse and meet NCAA eligibility standards.
Potential student-athletes have the opportunity to join the Golden Eagles during one of the most successful eras of the program. Each of the program's top 40 performances in the 8K have occurred over the past five seasons, including over 20 from last year alone.
That sort of performance led to a third-place showing at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships, the team's best showing since 1967. Over the past five years, Tech has boasted both the 2016 OVC Athlete of the Championships and the 2017 OVC Athlete of the Year.
