Kolbe completed his third season on the Golden Eagle cross
country team...an outstanding student...showed improvement
throughout his first season on the course.
AT TECH (In 2011): Kolbe ran in all six
meets during the 2011 season and ran consistent 8K times in the low
30s throughout the year...his top finish relative to his teammates
came in the first meet of the season at Sewanee in which he ran an
8K time of 31:17 and was Tech’s sixth finisher...cut his
Sewanee time by more than a minute at Georgia State, running a
30:05...saved the best for last, running his season-best time of
30:03 at the OVC Championships, placing seventh on the team.
(In 2010): Kolbe ran in three meets during the 2010 cross country season and saw improved times with each effort...made his TTU debut at the Western Kentucky Invitational, finishing in 33:04.31...moved up a spot on the team's ladder with a time of 31:55 at the TTU Invitational...best showing of the season came two weeks later at the Evansville Invitational with a personal best of 29:57.72 to place ninth on the team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Kolbe lettered in both cross country and track & field under Coach Finley at Independence High School, serving as team captain of both squads in his senior season...named to All-Metro team in cross country...competed in 1600m and 3200m races during track season...won the Mr. Hustle Award in cross country as a sophomore and the Eagle Leadership Award for both teams as a senior...helped team claim first place in the district and second in the regional...a member of the National Honor Society, Kolbe attended the Governor's School for Emerging Technologies at Tech and was selected for American Legion Boys' State.
