HAMPTON, Ga. – John Greene set a personal record for the second consecutive week and led Tennessee Tech at the Georgia State Invitational Saturday.

Greene ran the 8K course in 26:59 to finish 16^th overall and help the Golden Eagle men to a fifth-place finish out of 10 teams in their second meet this season.

Tennessee Tech's women also finished fifth out of nine teams at the meet, held outside of Atlanta.

On the men's side, Matt Bishop finished just behind Greene with a time of 27:03, good enough for a spot in 17^th place overall. The next three Golden Eagles to finish all set new personal-bests. Michael Mahan at 28:11, Adam McLeod at 28:13 and Charlie Jordan at 29:39.

Sterling Smith was the sixth Golden Eagle to finish at 29:42 while Kolbe Andrzejewski was seventh at 30:05.

Georgia claimed first place in the men's race with a team score of 27, followed by Kennesaw State in second with 62 points. UNC Wilmington (91), Georgia State (101) and Tech (159) rounded out the top five.

On the women's side, Peri Winborne paced all Tech finishers, running the 6K course in 24:42 to finish 25^th overall. Traci Jones was right behind her with a time of 24:53, finishing in 26^th place. The time was a new personal record for Jones on a 6K course.

The third Golden Eagle to finish, Rebecca Cline, also set a new 6K best with a time of 24:58 and a 28^th place finish.

Leah Bradley was the fourth Tech runner in at 25:28, followed by Meghan O'Donaghue at 25:35, a personal best, Emily Williams at 26:08 and Amelia McCoy at 26:19.

Georgia also won the women's race with 28 points, followed by Georgia State with 33 points in second place. UNC Wilmington (93), Kennesaw State (135) and Tennessee Tech (160) rounded out the top five.

Kennesaw State's Nabil Hamid won the men's individual race with a time of 25:39 while Hannah Srefanoff of Georgia State was the women's winner with a time of 22:23.

The Golden Eagles return home to host the TTU Invitational on Friday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m.
