ATLANTA, Ga. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team opened up its two-match road swing in the Peach State with a 7-0 loss to Georgia Tech in the purple and gold's first match in nearly three weeks.

The Golden Eagles (0-4) managed a victory in doubles play behind a Murilo Burckhardt 6-4 nod over Robert Bauer and Elias Shoky in the No. 3 position, but the Yellow Jackets claimed the other two tandem tangles to pick up the point and the tilt's early edge. Richard Biagiotti and Jonathan Inwanto carded a 6-4 win over No. 48 Alex Alvarez and Davids Spaks in the top spot, while Gianluca Carlini and Owen DeMuth followed suit with a 6-4 win of their own against Olivera Dao in Linus Rohlin in the No. 2 clash.

Alex Alvarez was responsible for Tech's lone set win in singles play with a second-set 6-4 triumph against Gianluca Carlini in the No. 2 battle, but Carlini captured the first and third sets to take the solo showdown.

Georgia Tech (4-2) claimed the rest of the singles matchups in straight sets to split their day on the courts after falling to Charlotte earlier on Friday. Christophe Clement won in the No. 1 position with a 7-5, 6-1 decision against Oliver Dao, while No. 122 Jonathan Irwanto took home a 6-4,6-3 victory over Davids Spaks in the No. 3 meeting.

The Jackets ended up taking the final three gatherings with an Elias Shokry 6-1, 6-2 nod against Diego Munoz in the No. 4 spot, a Richard Biagiotti 6-2, 6-1 win over Murilo Burckhardt in the No. 5 get-together and an Owen DeMuth 6-2, 6-3 triumph against Elyad Oshnavie in the No. 6 affair.

The Golden Eagles will be right back at it with a Saturday morning match at Georgia State. First serve in Atlanta is set for 11 a.m. CT.
