COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team will jump back into the swing of the things Sunday afternoon, as the Golden Eagles will square off with Kennesaw State in the club's first action in the month of March. First serve from Betty Siegel Courts is set for noon CT.

Sunday's match will mark the first non-"Power 5" opponent that the purple and gold will see this spring. Tech's early-season rigorous slate has featured doubleheaders with Florida State and Alabama, as well as a single contest at Tennessee to open the year.

The Golden Eagles (0-5) last hit the courts in Tallahassee on Feb. 26, falling in both affairs with Florida State behind a 4-3 defeat in the opener and a 6-1 loss in the nightcap. Evzen Holis, Elias Grubert and Mika Berghaus all notched singles wins in first contest with FSU for Tech's first solo nods this spring, while freshman Andrea Rodeia earned a victory in the second match with the Seminoles to account for TTU's lone point.

As far as double's play is concerned, Grubert, Holis, Rafael Tosetto and Jun Sasagawa have each picked up a win throughout the course of the season.

The Owls (3-7) enter Sunday on the heels of a two-match winning streak, securing home victories against Old Dominion on Thursday and Gardner-Webb on Friday. Sebastian Osorio, Sergio Ingles, Seru Tezuka and Harvey Conway all tallied the win column during singles play in Friday's affair with Gardner-Webb.

Ingles and Conway also carded wins over Old Dominion on Thursday, representing the two Owls on a singles winning streak entering Sunday's match with Tech.

KSU leads the all-time series, 3-1, with Tech, but the Golden Eagles won last year's meeting in Cookeville with a 6-1 victory on Feb. 29, 2020.
