COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A busy weekend of home action is on the books for the Tennessee Tech tennis team.

For the first time all season the Golden Eagles will play back-to-back days in Cookeville, first welcoming in Eastern Kentucky Saturday afternoon, before hosting Chattanooga Easter Sunday. Tech's tangle with the Colonels is set for noon CT, while the matchup with the Mocs is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

Admission to Tech Tennis Courts is free of charge.

TTU (4-10, 2-0 OVC) is off to a stellar start in conference play, blanking both Eastern Illinois and Austin Peay en route to a pair of 7-0 victories to begin OVC action. The Golden Eagles have dropped just two combined sets during singles play over the two matches, seizing all 12 possible points in the tandem of tilts.

No. 58 Eduardo Mena has won five-straight singles affairs to move to a Tech-best 8-4 this spring. The two-time OVC Player of the Year is 23-1 in his career during conference play. Junior Wenceslao Albin is the only other Golden Eagle with a winning record this spring at 7-6, while freshman Gonzalo Garcia is at .500 with a 7-7 mark.

TTU greets Eastern Kentucky having won 25-consecutive regular season conference matches and also boasts a 30-1 record in the last 31 contests played at Tech Tennis Courts.

Before heading Tech, EKU (5-14, 1-0 OVC) will play at Jacksonville State Friday afternoon. The Colonels captured their only conference clash this season, a 6-1 nod against Eastern Illinois on Mar. 23. Senior Ramon Van Flymen took down EIU's No. 1 Freddie O'Brien, 6-2, 6-4, for the first of two wins over the weekend that led to the Oosthuizen, Netherlands native to the OVC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor.

Overall, Van Flymen leads the Colonels with a 10-8 singles mark this spring, all out of the top spot in the EKU lineup.

The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series 54-20 with EKU, having won five in a row, including last year's 4-0 victory in the OVC Tournament championship match.

Originally scheduled to take on Golden Eagles in Tech's home opener on Feb. 17, Chattanooga (6-11) now comes to Cookeville on the heels of a 7-0 win at Alabama A&M Wednesday that snapped a six-match slide for the Mocs. Niklas Gerdes leads the team with an 8-8 singles mark, all out of the No. 1 spot in the squad's rotation.

Chattanooga leads the all-time series 34-22 with Tech.
