DICKSON, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team turned in its best round of the week at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon, firing the third-lowest score of the day to finish 10th at the tournament hosted at Greystone Golf Club.
The Golden Eagle posted a 292 on the day, totaling a 901 for the two-day event after first-day scores of 306 and 303.
Freshman Bracton Womack led the way for the Tech squad, firing an even-par 72 on day two to tie for 26th among the 74 participants. Combined with scores of 75 and 76 from Monday, Womack tallied a 223 overall.
Fellow rookie Will Brooks also showed out on Tuesday, erupting for a 1-under 71 to finish with a 225 after carding rounds of 75 and 79 on Monday. He tied with teammate Alexander Riddle for 33rd overall. Riddle posted a 78-72-75=225.
Sophomores Charles Seals and Cameron Yeary both enjoyed their best rounds of the event on the day, tying each other for 53rd overall with scores of 232. Seals turned in a 76 after back-to-back 78s on the first day of play. Yeary put up a 2-over 74 after rounds of 81 and 77 on Monday.
Tech will head back to the links Monday, Oct. 23 for the two-day Samford Intercollegiate at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala.
