COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team will head right back out to the links Saturday morning, heading back to Kentucky for the EKU Raising Canes Intercollegiate in Richmond after having just three days off from competition after its season-opening event in Murray, Ky. Monday and Tuesday.

EKU RAISING CANES INTERCOLLEGIATE: Sept. 16-17, 2017 – 54 holes (36 Saturday, 18 Sunday), located at the par-70, 6,623-yard University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Ky. Teams will kick off with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start on both Saturday and Sunday.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Matthew Giles, freshman Will Brooks, freshman Bracton Womack, sophomore Cameron Yeary and senior A.J. Wilkerson.

THE COMPETITION: The 16-team field consists of host Eastern Kentucky, as well as Austin Peay, Ball State, Cleveland State, Dayton, Evansville, Florida Gulf Coast, Longwood, Marshall, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Samford, SIUE, Tennessee Tech and William & Mary.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "We had some really solid play at Murray [State] and look to continue that momentum going into Richmond. Our team used to play in EKU's event for years, so we are excited about the opportunity to go back. [The University Club at] Arlington is a great course that is susceptible to low scoring, so the guys will need to be on with their scoring clubs and on the greens. It is a quick turnaround from Murray's event, and we are ready to get after it."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Tech men's golf team hasn't played in Richmond in over a decade, leaving plenty of chances and opportunities for low scores to be discovered for the Golden Eagles. Despite a fairly youthful roster, Tech showed consistency in Murray, Ky. last week and will look to improve on a strong start with veteran A.J. Wilkerson back in the lineup.
