Tech Baseball Hosts Holiday Inn Classic at Bush Stadium

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech Baseball hosts UIC, Alabama A&M, and Notre Dame in the Holiday Inn Classic at Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex starting Friday. The matchup with Notre Dame on Sunday, March 1, can be watched on ESPN+ at 2 p.m. CT.

The Golden Eagles (5-4, 0-0 OVC) welcome Illinois-Chicago, Alabama A&M, and Notre Dame to Cookeville for a multi-team event at Bush Stadium. The opening game of the weekend takes place on Friday at 11 a.m., between Alabama A&M and Notre Dame.

Admission to all games at Bush Stadium is free.

GOLDEN BATS

  • Eddie Garza leads the team with a .375 batting average (12x32) with two doubles and 3 RBI.
    • Garza has a hit in 7-of-9 games with three multi-hit games.
    • Garza is slashing .375/.400 OBP /.438 SLG
  • Jorsixt Jimenez has a hit in 7-of-9 games with three multi-hit games, including a 3-hit game vs. Ohio.
    • Jimenez is slashing .355 BA / .400 OBP / .677 SLG (tm lead)  
  • Owen Lee leads the team with three home runs and is second in slugging (.656) and RBI (8).
    • Lee is third on the team in batting average (.313) and slashing .313 BA / .405 OBP / .656 (SLG).

EAGLES' WINGS

  • Garrett Holpuch leads TTU starting pitchers with a 3.00 ERA (12.0 IP, 4 ER) and tied for first on the team with nine strikeouts.
    • Holpuch delivered 7.0 scoreless innings with two strikeouts against Ohio last Saturday.
  • Reece McDuffie has earned two saves and struck out seven batters in 6.1 IP.
  • Jaxson Pease tossed a season-long 6.2 innings with a season-high five strikeouts against Ohio last Sunday, earning his second win of the season (2-1).

The Golden Eagles host UIC on Friday at 4 p.m., Alabama A&M on Saturday at 3 p.m., and Notre Dame (ESPN+) on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Holiday Inn Classic at Bush Stadium.
