In 2011 (Sophomore): Tristan appeared in 16
games last season, of which 14 he started in…he recorded a
team-high seven wins, while striking out 67 batters…against
Morehead State, Tristan threw his first complete game, as he struck
out a career-high 10 batters…pitched at least six innings in
10 of his appearances, including four straight games when he threw
seven innings or more…named the OVC Pitcher of the Week
(Feb. 25).
In 2010 (Freshman): One of Tech’s starting
pitchers, Archer appeared in 13 games last season, starting 12 of
them and accumulating 49 innings pitched...posted a 3-2
record...tallied 33 strikeouts including a season-high six at
Jacksonville State...only 23 of 81 hits were for extra bases.
Sullivan South High School: A two-time first-team
all-conference selection, and 2009 Big 9 conference Player of the
Year...was named all-region, All-Northeast Tennessee and Johnson
City Press Super 22 after 2008 and 2009 seasons, was a second-team
All-State selection in 2009…had an 8-1 record and 0.69 ERA
as a senior...went 8-3 in 2009 with a 1.82 ERA, and hit .358 from
the plate as a junior…drafted by the Oakland Athletics after
his senior campaign.
