In 2010 (Freshman): One of Tech's starting pitchers, Archer appeared in 13 games last season, starting 12 of them and accumulating 49 innings pitched for an average of 3.77 IP per game. Over the course of the year, he maintained an ERA of 7.90 with a record of 3-and-2. He earned 33 strikeouts including a season-high six at Jacksonville State in a hardfought, 8-7 loss. Opponents batted .368 against him, and only 23 of 81 hits were for extra bases.

all-conference selection, and 2009 Big 9 conference Player of the
Year...was named all-region, All-Northeast Tennessee and Johnson
City Press Super 22 after 2008 and 2009 seasons, was a second-team
All-State selection in 2009…had an 8-1 record and 0.69 ERA
as a senior...went 8-3 in 2009 with a 1.82 ERA, and hit .358 from
the plate as a junior…drafted by the Oakland Athletics after
his senior campaign.
