Mike Brown was elevated to director of sports medicine in March 2024 after being promoted to head athletic trainer in September 2023. Prior to September, he served as an assistant athletic trainer for Tennessee Tech Sports Medicine staff for the previous nine years.

He also spent two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Golden Eagles from 2012-14.

A native of Kissimmee, Fla., Brown is a 2012 graduate of Florida Southern College, where he earned a bachelor’s of science in athletic training. In May of 2014, he completed his master’s of arts in EXPW/fitness and wellness from Tennessee Tech.

Brown and his wife, the former Michaela Hawley, reside in Cookeville with their son Xander.
