Katie Pleasant is in her first year as senior external coordinator for marketing and promotions at Tennessee Tech, joining the Golden Eagle athletics staff in March 2022.

Pleasant comes to Cookeville with more than her fair share of collegiate sports marketing experience, having spent the last five years working on the Division I stage. Serving as a sports marketing assistant for the past year at her alma mater, the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Pleasant co-supervised 15 student employees and helped lead a wide variety of marketing and promotional initiatives for the Seahawks.

Among the responsibilities, Pleasant and her staff executed game day promotions and public address duties to meet sponsorship contracts, assisted in the development and coordination of jersey auctions to support non-profit organizations, managed the official social media accounts for UNCW sports marketing, scheduled, planned and staffed athletic and community events for UNCW mascot and much more.

In addition to her time at UNCW, which includes interning for four years with Seahawk Sports Marketing during her undergraduate days, Pleasant served as a promotions and production intern for the Morehead City Marlins of the Coastal Plain League during the 2021 campaign. While with the club, Pleasant oversaw all gameday production, managed gameday scripts, helped develop and execute promotional on-field games, assisted with the execution of merchandise orders and managed social media campaigns, along with a variety of other responsibilities.

Pleasant graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in recreation, sports leadership and tourism management from UNCW in May 2021.
