A three-time All-American when he participated as a member of the Tennessee Tech rifle team, Manny Goodman remained with the program after graduation to serve as head coach and helped lead the team into the OVC era and keep the Golden Eagleyes ranked among the nation's elite.

A three-time All-American in smallbore competition, Manny Goodman earned four letters as a member of the Tennessee Tech rifle team from 1986-1990 followed by a four-year stint as the head coach of the Golden Eagleyes.

Goodman was a two-time captain of the Tech team, leading the squad to third-place finishes in the NCAA Championships each of his junior and senior seasons. The Golden Eagle team qualified for the NCAA’s each of his four seasons including his three All-American seasons in 1987-88, 88-89, and 89-90.

Just months after graduating from Tech, Goodman took the reins as the team’s head coach from 1990-94. In that time, he coached the Golden Eagleyes to a 212-62 overall record, placing as high as seventh in the NCAA’s. He coached seven-time All-American Darryl Szarenski as well as recruited and coached five-time All-American Darrin Campbell, three-time All-American Stephen Morabito, two-time All-American Chris Jensen, and one-time All-American Tanya Brown.

Goodman was the head coach at the time of the Ohio Valley Conference’s adoption of Rifle as a league sport and helped coach Tech’s first Smallbore MVP in the form of Chris Jensen. The team finished second in the inaugural OVC Championship. His 1993-94 squad boasted two All-OVC selections including Jensen and Jason Schultze. Three of his shooters also earned a place on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Shortly after his coaching career at Tech ended, Goodman began work as an intern at TRW Automotive. He has earned numerous promotions throughout years, earning the titles of Customer Group Leader, Business Unit Manager, Materials Manager, Quality Manager, Senior Quality Manager, and Plant Manager on his way to becoming a Technical Specialist for the company.
