Chris Moye-Hagood made a lasting impact on the Tennessee Tech women's basketball record books as she helped the Golden Eaglettes to 73-43 record during her four seasons on the roster from 1982 to 1986, a feat that included taking Tech from a 14-13 record her freshman season to an improved 22-10 mark in her senior season, with conference recognition all four seasons and two postseason appearances.

Her efforts did not go unrecognized as she was named the 1982-83 Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Year, and a place on the all-freshman team. She followed that up with three straight All-OVC nods. She helped take the Golden Eagles to reach four OVC Tournaments and two post-season tournament appearances. She also earned three OVC all-tournament team nods, in 1983, 1985 and 1986.

In the 1984-85 season with a 20-8 record, Tech received an at-large bid, to the NCAA Tournament. In the 1985-86 season, Moye’s senior year, the Golden Eaglettes earned a bid to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament.

The three-year captain finished her illustrious career with 1,633 points, which placed her fourth all-time in Tech history at that time. Moye still ranks 11^th all-time. However, Moye was not just a scorer, in fact, she was more known for her passing ability and her defensive skills. She finished her career as the sole record-holder for assists in a single season with 270 in the 1985-86 season. She also finished fifth in the nation that season. This record still stands as the single-season record in both the TTU and OVC record books.

Moye finished with the career assists record of 631, setting both Tech and OVC records. She still ranks 4^th in both books, trailing three other Tech players, two of whom are in the TTU Sports Hall of Fame (Shawn Monday and Cecilia Ramsey).

Her defensive skills were highlighted by her ability to swipe the ball from her opponents. Moye registered 254 steals in her career, which ranked second in Tech history, and she still holds the No. 2 spot. While she finished her career at third, she currently ranks 8^th in the OVC for career steals. Her ability to play the whole game is reflected in the fact that she posted a record five triple-doubles (points, rebounds, assists), the most in both Tech and OVC history. She also recorded 28 double-doubles in her career.

Following her senior season, she was named co-MVP, earned the Most Consistent Award, won the Best Defensive Player Award, and for the second straight year, the team's Leadership Award. The National Women’s Sports Federation and Fast Break Magazine named Moye as a first-team All-American in 1986. Moye went on to play in the Women’s National Basketball Association following her senior year as she played for the Knoxville Bearcats.
