Edward "Pete" Gracey became the first golf letterwinner to be included in the Hall of Fame. He lettered on the first golf team at Tech in 1942. He also lettered four years in football and track. He played for the Rhode Island Steamrollers while stationed at the U.S. Navy's Camp Endicott in World War II. A year later, he moved into coaching at the collegiate level, assisting at Swarthmore College.
