Saturday's cross country assignment: Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech women's and men's cross country teams will venture South this weekend to run Saturday in the Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational. The meet will be held at Oxford Lake, with the women touring a 5K course and the men negotiating an 8K layout.

The women's event will get underway at 9 a.m. CDT, followed by the men's race at 9:45 a.m.

Tech will be competing against 15 other teams on Saturday, making this season's Foothills Invitational the largest field in the history of the meet. The meet features a mixture of NCA Division I and Division II programs and the meet scoring will be broken down into divisions.

Division I squads who will be scored against the Golden Eagles include Alabama A&M, Jacksonville State and Mercer. The non D-I programs in the field include Chattahoochee Tech, Clark Atlanta, Columbus State, Darton College, Georgia Southwestern (Women), Miles College, Morehouse (men) SCAD Atlanta, Tuskegee, Alabama-Huntsville and West Alabama.

The Tech women will be paced by Rebecca Cline, who has led the team in each of the previous three meets this season. She was one of seven runners to record a personal-best time last week at the Charlotte Invitational.

In the men's race, coach Tony Cox will see John Greene setting the pace as he has also done in all three meets in 2013. He was one of three Golden Eagles who established career-best times last week at Charlotte.

Complete results of the race will be posted on TTUsports.com when they are available.
