COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Excellent weather is expected Saturday
morning when the Tennessee Tech cross country teams co-host the
second annual 5K Run and Fitness Walk, beginnning at 8 a.m. at
Tucker Stadium. Runners can register at the event, beginning at
7:30 a.m.
The cross country teams are co-hosting the event with the
Cookeville Jaycees on Saturday, March 21. Most of the proceeds from
the race go to the Jaycees, who use thefunds to purchase Christmas
gifts for underpriveledged children. A portion of the proceeds also
go to the cross country teams toward team travel expenses.
Trophies will be given by age bracket and gender. Goodie bags,
refreshmens and food will be available for all participants. All
pre-registered partcipants (pre-registration closed March 13) will
receive a free t-shirt.
The sign-up table will be located on the west side of Tucker
Stadium.
