COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball program has had some talented teams over the years and the 1986 squad was no exception.

Three Tech Sports Hall of Famers – Melanie Marshall, Becky Murray Isom and Angie Duncan Hyche – came off of that team, which won its sixth straight OVC Southern Division regular-season title in the 1986 campaign.

Thirty-five years later, the members of that 1986 squad are invited back for Legends Weekend, recognizing several teams who are celebrating milestones in 2021.

Isom led Tech with 3.39 kills and 3.61 digs per game en route to a selection as the OVC Southern Division Player of the Year, as well as an All-OVC and All-Tournament pick. Hyche averaged 2.05 kills and 3.52 digs.

The Legends Weekend festivities surround the Tech football game against Southeast Missouri on Oct. 2. The day begins at 11:15 as the Golden Eagle football team has its Eagle Walk into Tucker Stadium. A tailgate in the Purple and White tent with former Tech student-athletes and their guests will begin at 11:30. The soccer alumni will also be recognized during the football game.

Kickoff for the game against the Redhawks is at 1:30 p.m.

Also being recognized on Oct. 2 is the Tech women's soccer program for the 25th anniversary of the program, the 2011 Tech football team for the 10th anniversary of their OVC championship and Football Championship Subdivision Playoff appearance, and the 1961 football team for the 60th anniversary of their OVC title.

Complimentary tickets will be available for soccer alumni and their guests.
